The Sunday Riley Transformation Kit & why I’m obsessed with it.
As you get older, and hopefully wiser, you’ll realize that the key to good makeup is the skin underneath. If you didn’t know, don’t be alarmed …a lot of people were late to the party, including me.
As a a self proclaimed skincare junkie, I’ve been through a decent amount of products my life time, most of them cheap, most of them did not work. I wondered, how many cheap products does it take to get to perfect skin. The answer was 10 million and 24 years. And spoiler alert, good skin costs. I have been looking for a product that can clear my hyper-pigmentation and low and behold I stumbled upon the cult beauty products by Sunday Riley, Good Genes and Luna Sleeping Night Oil …thanks to Jackie Aina. Luna is a nighttime oil with retinol and mix of cold-pressed oils that work as a cushion to deliver the retinol. Although retinol can be harsh on the skin, Retinol is simply another name for Vitamin A and is amazing for fighting off hyper-pigmentation, redness and in some cases, cystic acne. It also leaves your skin glowing and hydrated. Good Genes is a lactic acid treatment and combats fine lines, wrinkles and ultimately smoothes and evens the skin’s texture. It also contains arnica, licorice, and lemongrass to help exfoliate and add vibrancy to the skin.
I easily integrated the two into my daily routine. In the mornings, I start with a gentle cleanser, usually my Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, rinse and apply my moisturizer. Then I smooth the Good Genes and let it work it’s magic. It’s great to put on before apply makeup because it smoothes out the lines in your face before application resulting in a seamless, flawless finish.
At night, I do my usual thing. I take off my makeup, cleanse my face, pop on a facial mask and after rinsing I put on the Luna Sleeping Night Oil. In the morning, I’d wake up to baby smooth skin and a glow that the sun could be jealous of. It may sound like exaggeration, but I assure you, it is definitely not.
I have dry skin so it has definitely helped my skin to not look dull. The best thing is that it can be used for all skin types! The only negative factor about this product is the price. Individually, the full size of Good Genes comes at a whopping $158 for the full size and the Luna Night Oil is $105 for the full size. They do offer the “Transformation Kit” for $85, which is what I have. You are getting your money’s worth seeing as they are prescription strength and they actually work!
I have been using these products for about 2 weeks and I can definitely give them a well deserved A+. If these products graduated from college, they’d be a Summa Cum Laude and you can always trust anything Summa Cum Laude, right?
