The Best Drink for Thanksgiving Dinner #AD

Thanksgiving can be a stressful time. You may have to cook dinner for a crew full of people – or maybe sitting watching others cook – or you may be getting grilled by family asking when you’re getting married (we’ve all had that long conversation). But nothing brings family together than a good drink.

For those of use who aren’t the ones who make dinner (me), our job is provide great drinks for everyone to share. A good drink always getting the conversation going and make things an all around good time.

One of my favorite, and simple, drinks to make at any time of the year is a Vodka Cranberry. It takes literally 1-minute to make and tastes great even if you aren’t a huge fan of vodka! Here’s what you need:

+ 4 oz of cranberry juice
+ 1/4 oz of lemon juice (for a little kick)
+ 1/2 oz of vodka
+ 1/4 o of water (optional)
+ 1 lemon
+ 1 lime

Get your favorite mixer with a strainer. I have a bar kit a home (thanks to having a roommate that is a bartender). Put as much ice as your want in the mixer. I typically fill it half way. Start by pouring in your 1/2 oz of vodka, followed by your 4oz of cranberry juice and 1/4 of lemon juice. This is the part where you can add a bit of water, to mellow out the vodka. Depending on how I feel, I will add the cut lemons and limes inside the mixer to let the taste soak into the drink. Now, shake. Once you’ve shaken like your life depended on it, strain the mixture in to a glass over ice. If I have extra lemon/lime left over so I will either slip a piece inside the drink or garnish the glass to make it extra fancy.

Whalaa! The perfect, refreshing simple drink to keep conversation going at the dinner table! Happy Thanksgiving! And as always, drink responsibly!
