If you are blogger or in any way involved with social media, you should know the importance of consistent content. It is the #1 rule for growing as an influencer or online entrepreneur, but one thing is for sure…it is not the easiest thing in the world to do. Most of us work our butts off to promote our content manually, which results in a bit of a lag. You may forget for a day, a week or a month! It’s not uncommon as we all have busy lives outside of work right? Well, it’s easier than you think! I’m going to break down 3 fool-proof ways to streamline your content and get yourself out there, consistently.
Like I mentioned before, life can sometimes get in the way. Some of us don’t have 7 days a week to devote to writing content. This is where batching your content comes into play. Since I work 5 days a week, most of my free time comes on weekends. Often times, I will take Friday and Saturday to go out and shoot outfit posts, brainstorm and write my posts. If I’m doing all of this in one day, I normally will use 2-3 hours for photos and another 2-3 hours to write. How much time you spend is solely up to you, but this helps me to push out – at minimum – one post per week. If you can get in the habit of doing this once a week, you can create a system and have more content to post.
2. Create a content calendar and schedule
The recurring theme here is time. Creating a content calendar helps you to organize your thoughts in between your schedule. It’s similar to how we have a daily planner for our lives. How many times a week will you post? What content will be posted on each day?
3. Content scheduling tools
It is insane to try to schedule all your content manually. There are many programs that help you to do this (ie Hootsuite, Buffer and SproutSocial), but my personal favorite and the one I depend on is Coschedule. It has been my savior to making sure I post consistently across all social platforms.
What is it exactly? CoSchedule is an easy drag-and-drop content marketing calendar that allows you to plan, create, and promote your content all in one place. It also has a really cool WordPress plug-in that allows you (or your team) to organize and promote posts or social media campaigns!
Now, I don’t have a team and do all of my scheduling on my own, but it allows me to push to push out throughout the month. You can schedule for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr! Imagine remembering to do all this manually! The best part is that it’s not an arm and a leg to purchase and use. I use the Solo Standard version for only $19/month.
Coschedule also has a headline anaylizer and can be integrated with your Google calendar! See a screen grab of how I use it below. You can get Coshedule, here.
